This unit is part of the Salesforce Quick Start path.
If you haven't already done so, we recommend starting with Introduction: Salesforce quick start first before you go any further.
In this unit we'll cover how to create a template, which will contain the contents of the SMS sent within your flow.
Once you've created a template, you can quickly and easily use it in new flows.

Before adding any SMS content, you need to specify your template details. These will not be visible to a recipient of a template, but enable you to maintain control of how the template is used and provide internal reference. Enter the following values into each field:
Template Name: Enter a meaningful name here

Salesforce
Related object:

Your template is now active and ready to be used within a flow! However, let's firstly add in a merge field to personalise the body of the SMS.
Merge fields are placeholders for the literal values against each individual contact record within Salesforce.
See Adding merge fields for more information.

Position your cursor where you'd like to insert the merge field, ideally at the start of your SMS after you have said

In the Filter box, search for
First Name
and then click on this to add it to your template -
Click Save
What's next?
Now that you have created an SMS templates, it's time to apply this to a flow.
