This unit is part of the Salesforce Quick Start path.
If you haven't already done so, we recommend starting with Introduction: Salesforce quick start first before you go any further.
In this unit we'll cover how to point Pendula to the relevant objects within your data source which you want to communicate with, in other words, who your recipients are.
We do this be creating related objects. Once you have a related object configured, you can then use this to create templates and flows.

How to create a contact related object
What's a related object?
A related object points Pendula to the relevant recipient within your data source. It helps establish what the context of your flow is, and who should receive any SMS or email communication.
Because recipients can be represented within Salesforce with different objects and data relationships (leads, contacts and users) it's important for Pendula to know which is the correct one to send to.
In this quick start collection, we'll be keeping it simple by creating a related object based around the contact object in Salesforce.
See Related objects for more information.
