Templates form the content (or body) of messages sent from Pendula, and can be applied to one or many different flows.
When to use templates
While optional, templates are handy when you need to use the same message content regularly, saving you time on having to retype the same thing over and over again!
Templates also serve as a 'master' version, which you can apply to and then tweak further where needed at a flow level.
If you are only creating a template to be sent as a 'once-off' you can create it directly within the flow builder itself instead of making a separate template first.
You can navigate to the templates screen via the Templates tab on the top navigation bar.
From this screen you can create and manage any templates used within your Pendula app.
|Template name||Name of the template which will be used as the reference from within the flow builder and the templates list view. It's always best practice to ensure template names are unique|
Whether the template will be sent as an SMS, or via a different method of delivery
Defines the object (or table) a template relates to. The selected related object controls which merge fields are available for use. For more information on related objects, see the Setting up Pendula module.
|Created date & time||The date and time the template was created|
The status field determines how templates are used and whether they can be applied to a flow from within the flow builder.
|Actions||Any quick actions available to the template|
Under the Actions column, you can:
- Edit the template
- Copy the template
- Delete the template
- Export the contents of the template as a .txt or .html file (depending on its type)
See Managing your templates for more information.
