While all outbound and inbound messages can be viewed via the Messages tab within Salesforce, you can also view communications sent via Pendula at a record level.
Each time a message record is created in Salesforce, Pendula creates events related to both the triggering record and recipient record of that message.
These can then be viewed within the activity history.
In order to write back to a record's activity history, ensure Create native events (in Activity History) is ticked in Pendula Settings. You can read more about this here.
These events are created based on whether the message was sent:
- Via a flow
- Via the Console
- As an inbound SMS
By default, if an event is created regarding an outbound email message, it will update each time that message has a new message event.
For example, once an email is opened, the original event will be updated to reflect this. See Pendula settings for more information.
Each event contains a Message field linking back to the corresponding message record, along with a Message Contents element which provides a preview of what was sent within the email or SMS.
